Event: Exploring the Australian Bush and Drawing Koalas
Objective: Students will learn about the Australian bush and koalas, practicing basic drawing and shading techniques.
Slow Down Breathing
We start with a brief breathing exercise to calm and focus the students.
Story of the Australian Bush
Students listen to a short story about the Australian bush and create a simple visual response based on the imagery.
Blinky Bill’s Description of Baby Koalas
We hear a description of baby koalas from Blinky Bill to inspire our drawing.
Directed Drawing of Koalas
Students will learn to draw koalas using basic shapes and shading to create depth and dimension.
By the end of the session, students will have drawn a koala, using simple shapes and shading techniques for a 3D effect.
