I have been a teacher for nearly 30 years and an eager crafter, dabbling in crochet, knitting, drawing and painting in different media. I love coming up with new ideas particularly in repurposing things. Just as my Aunty Val and Mum shared with me, I love to share my creative writing and craft ideas. I have a strong interest in facilitating the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills through Visual Arts activities.
Qualifications: Diploma of Teaching Primary- Majoring in Art & Mathematics Graduate Certificate in E-Learning I hold a current Working with Children Check I have completed art lessons at the Art Gallery of NSW in various media. 2023 -I am an accredited Youth Mental Health First Aider with Mental Health First Aid Australia.

I further my art teaching by continuing to learn myself, studying the lives and works of the Great Masters as well as keeping up to date with current artworks and ideas. I love to create, learning and practising new art skills .
I encourage the children in my classes to make their own decisions about colour and styles after tuition in areas of colour and design.
Overall my aim is to encourage artistic skills as a lifelong hobby that can be calming and uplifting.
Mindful Art: My latest passion is using art as a tool to calm the mind and soothe anxiety. I have been studying Mindfulness, looking at the work of Jon Kabat Zinn and current mindfulness practices. I have been accredited with a "Mental First Aid Health Certificate" from Mental Health First Aid Australia
